From: tal I Category: Life Date: 17 July 2007 Time: 04:41 AM Review: As you enter Florence in the rattling cab with the driver perfuming the night air with a rustic meal on his breath, the warmth of 20 degrees at 2am and a bus to catch, the party is ending or beginning and couples in tight clothes are getting friendly on the way home/out. The toll has been paid, and you enter the outskirts, each street is dotted with single women wearing the usual oversexed outfits, something like what men want are to blame for, the reduction to legs and breast and ass and a slim figure, from a distance the bumps and thick make up and heroin holes and sadness can't be seen. I think of friends and novelists who would love all this. At this speed the statues that line the streets look no different from the women in the partying, groping couples, just that they are waiting alone usually.
