In fact, most loss of life on the Belgrano was sustained after the torpedo struck two mess rooms and 
a relaxation room in the ship's stern so your sentimental empathy was in vain. The lift rafts were over-
filled but this actually helped the men survive. The men in life rafts who were only 5 or 6 together died 
of exposure. If you have a bout of 80s nostalgia, why not point your empathy to the Iran-Iraq war which 
cost the life of over a million people?
