the home of critical reviews
From: blp Category: Life Date: 15 June 2007 Time: 03:27 PM Review: If you'd read my remarks you'd see I pointed out that many critics of Israel were also vociferous critics of corrupt regimes elsewhere in the world - an address to the constant suggestion that Israel's critics single it out unfairly. You nevertheless parroted this back at me. Your remarks are so full pro-Israeli shibboleths and unfounded assumptions about my view that I sense I'm up against prejudice to which there's probably not much point responding. I will say that 1) I was not arguing for the boycott, 2) my remarks, including those about South Africa, were primarily an examination of the interpretation of opposition to Israel as antisemitic. It's not clear, but you seem to have addressed my 'analogy' as if it was a homology. I did not say that the two situations were identical.
