Review:

Nice title. Nice paperback cover, a wood cut ship afloat on a rectangle of gold. The book is weird for 
Naipaul. Just history. Makes me sleepy, blah did this deblah did that, sir blahblah did something else. 
Is good though, makes you feel a sharp prick of slavery's horror, the devil's in the detail, cold-blooded 
legalisation of humans into pieces of property.
