From: Remi Category: Music Date: 21 May 2007 Time: 07:22 PM Review: Herbert von Karajan has the longest recordings so far, which is great as it means you can load something off and let him rattle off a symphony or two while i get serious with my revision. however i feel uneasy about karajan's nazi affiliations in the early days, how should this be overcome? also perhaps i'm downgrading classical music by listening to it and concentrating on something else at the same time. this is what daniel barenboim talked about in his Reith lectures. it did feel strange attending music concerts and being used to getting on with something else when i heard the music. but i loved the beningly eccentric crowd that these events attract and that was enough to keep me going
