From: blp Category: Art Date: 19 May 2007 Time: 12:23 PM Review: Alexander Hamilton is incredibly good at drawing and draws like crazy, with mixed results. If there's such a thing as a fatal facility, Hamilton's got it, meaning he's capable of producing acres of complicated stuff that impresses without particularly grabbing. When he's good, though, it's poetry and the main wall of this show is all that side of him: wonderfully adroit, inventive pencil drawings from photos of a petrol station, employing a unique, sharply intelligent graphic language to both intensify and defamiliarise. I'm afraid I can't do them justice. I hope he sells the lot.
