No, I'm not saying we're stuck because we've got rid of God. I'm saying we're stuck because we've
got rid of Godard.

If I had to be a painter now, I'd be a realist, in the sense that Godard is a realist director,
which means acknowledging the reality of your medium in relation to the reality you're trying to
capture. I'd expect to make no simple, easily readable statements. I'd daydream a lot.
