From: Remi Category: Art Date: 30 December 2006 Time: 07:00 AM Review: HMS Venturerer, the scourge of the bootwaffe, was the only known case of one submarine successfully torpedoeing another while both were submerged. HMS Venturer fired four torpedoes at U864 from 4000 feet and destroyed the German submarine which was bound for Japan. It was carrying spare Messerschmitt parts, as well as a large quantity of mercury, which is now a cause of considerable concern for the Norwegian environment. This fact further reinforces the fictional depiction of U-571, a supremely beautiful film, which also features the successful torpedoing of a U-boat.
