Anyone for Saussure's Course in General Linguistics? Language like totally breaks down into signs, signifiers, signifieds and referrants. Barthes' Camera Lucida? Every photo has a point of contact or entry for the viewer called a 'punctum', only it can be different for different viewers. Marshall McLuhan? The medium is the message. Milton Friedman? Just let money do its thing and everything will be ticketty-boo (yeah right!)
