From: Dave Death Category: Art Date: 26 November 2006 Time: 11:51 AM Review: I could drink this all day..... 1966 Oct-03 22 How good was Saint Estephe in 1966? Many rated this higher than the 1961. A beautiful nose: quite minerally with a seam of sweet raspberry and hot bricks. The palate is very well- balanced, quite feminine and elegant for Montrose which is usually more foresquare. It does not quite have the vigour of Cos 66 but has a lovely lifted finish. A real gem. Drink now. Marking system: a 15-point scale from an undrinkable 10 to a perfect 25... 21-22 - exceptionally fine http://www.wine-journal.com/montrosevertical.html http://www.greigs-restaurant.com/
