From: Remi Category: Films Date: 09 November 2006 Time: 06:03 AM Review: After getting up to speed on the second series of 24, Jack's back and all that, I was feeling empty so watched all my favourite movies' trailers on imdb. The thought of a friend saying, 'Go, go go! U-571' reminded me of the time I worked in an internet cafe for a week, when I saw lots of info relating to that redoubtable film. An interesting collection of trailers from Dr. Strangelove to Dr. Zhivago. Some were incredibly long, almost 5 minutes, which sort of counts as a mini-film in itself. Perhaps it could be cunningly launched as a new art form. Some of them, I was able to watch several times, thanks to their poetic qualities. Midnight Cowboy achieved this, and Platoon came close. Some were disappointing, This is spinal tap was keeping back a lot. Don't want to turn this into a list of favs and daves, perhaps I could do special reviews on each trailer? Woody Allen's were unusual, as he had a mock interview for Bananas and Sleeper. Why did his films go downhill?
