Review:

Is a doctor a consumer? If you judge them by all the needles and plastic objects they use, I should
think so. This is a new lease of life, dressing up in your favourite kipper ties, shadowing and
interefering with the grown-up doctors' work, speaking to patients, examining them day in and day
out. A constant stream of people busying about, people in agony, never in ecstasy. Need to think on
your feet, there's no comfy chairs to fall back into. Some folk out of their minds, calling out inanely but
animately, you have to give them a chance. Carry a PDA around, can look up stuff in between
patients. Can't rely on my compartmentalised mind, have to synthesise knowledge into neat, bite-
sized chunks. Back home for some more revision and a cup of coffee for my desensitised mind.
