Review:

We are given photocopied sheets. Our second class and nearing the end of chapter one. When will I
be qualified? What will I specialise in? Beginner's German offers an interesting counterpoint to those
common questions. Intrigued by the way that some of the words follow a sort of English logic I have
not encountered into my two previous forays into modern languages, French and Spanish. Enjoy
coming across words that I have gleaned from literature and music as it makes me feel wordly wise
and kultured. I am particularly enthralled with references to Yiddish and American slang. Early days
yet, but I have a good feeling about this adventure.
