I suppose one of the points I am making is that there has no been no general validation of any art movement since 1980 ish, except perhaps the YBAs, who do genuinely have something interesting to offer, the thrashing round to find something else by Saatchi et al, and the half-hearted revival of painting (it never died) is indicative of that.
