A man tried to pick me up, then pretended to be offended that I thought he was homosexual, a young Arab with a marijuana leaf earring hung out with me for a bit, then got circumspect when two motorcycle cops appeared, gleaming, out of the darkness. Then an older Arab stopped to urinate copiously against a nearby wall and he and a bag lady stayed with me until morning when he bought us coffee and croissants in a nearby caf. When we went into the station, we found a bunch of people sleeping in the waiting room.
