Review:

Helped me to discover that bitching is my way of chilling. Beautiful location, good size for a festival,
neither town-sized like some, nor so small you keep tripping over the same people. Lack of big name
performers was good in theory, but the wandering from stage to stage after midday lethargy was
increasingly intensified by the desire to see and hear at least one thing outstanding. Highlights did
include Jamie Liddell (great performer, great voice but why was he on at 1am on Friday?) and Lily
Allen, though I’m getting really bored of her music and I learnt all the lyrics after the second listening,
but she was fresh with a nervous squeaky giggle that was funny and fun. Mr Scruff was complete
rubbish. Post-2am entertainment could have been greatly improved. Saturday night, looking for a
good time, we were herded towards the three tents remaining open with bad Cabaret, bad techno or
bad cover singers to choose from. Great festival to take small children to, bad festival to be camping
in the Family Camping section if you don’t have small children, unless you’re the sort of person who
likes to wake up at 7am and run around screaming for a few hours before starting the day proper.
Don’t forget your wet-wipes.
