funny how british writing is so narrative, so unserious compared to American, british books are never total, whole pictures of society like US, they are usually a little class or ethnic slice of life.Jacobson is not a writer i have read since the 80s when he seemed in the second david lodge, tom sharpe, school of comic romp. I shall take another look now.
