Review

not as crepuscular as you might have thought. breezy new yorker style prose, and reasonable access make this a good book for art world ingenues wanting to get a sense of the high and mighty, and insiders wanting to see their friends names in print. A little too much he was wearing yoji yamamoto with banana republic slacks, and not very critical (as one might expect, it is observation rather than critique), the relentless fawning by the then curator of MOCa Schimmel on Murakami is funny and sad. Like the art world it depicts, the one of craving for money and power, it is actually quite a fun thing.
