Review

Hustvedt, much brilliantly reviewed wife of flagging Paul Auster, writes ripping yarns with all the chichi accoutrements of hipintellectual NY life. Thus the clunky writing is made up for by mystery plots and green eyed (hubby?) heroes, she seems to write always with a male narrator for some reason. Not great lit but good read. The absurd artist in this book is not even that bad, though the trendy rave kids are a bit of a strain.
