clearly you have trouble with idea of fantasy or fiction. Do you think that we read lolita because we are pedos or conrad because we want to go to sea. The connection between the thing depicted or the values of an artwork and our desires is clearly more complicated than we like things that we want to be. Of course sometimes we do want to be what we watch sometimes not. A lot of culture reflects and perpetuates inequality but it is certainly not the case that all men or women want to be the characters they watch or read about.
