Review

Have always avoided oz, there is a lot of them in charity shops. But decided to take the plunge the other day and bought two. Yes they are not bad. This one a memoir of his childhood in Jerusalem for the first time gave me an insight into how some Israelis feel about the founding of Israel, it is a much more complex tale, than the usual Israel as colonist caricature we read about in the anti-zionist papers, which we might discount but which has seeped into our views of Israel/Palestine. It is not simple and good to learn something new.
